Kalyan Banerjee, born and raised in West Bengal, India, is a versatile artist with a passion for acting, storytelling, and filmmaking. With 18 years of experience, he has made significant contributions to theater, films, TV, web series, and education. A postgraduate in Theatre and Film from Rabindra Bharati University and an acting diploma holder from the National Institute of Film & Fine Arts (NIFFA), Banerjee is known for his depth and authenticity as an actor in Bengali film and theater.
As a filmmaker, he has written, directed, and produced numerous short films, corporate films, and advertisements, showcasing his creativity. He has also directed international documentaries like the one on the United States Carrom Association and national documentaries such as Chandraketu Garh and Maharashtra Carrom Association (MCA).
Kalyan Banerjee has worked as a Casting Director with SVF Entertainment, one of India’s leading production houses, on numerous films, web series, and TV shows. Kalyan Banerjee’s expertise as a casting director has shaped the careers of many actors, with notable contributions to projects like Suman Ghosh’s Kabuliwala (featuring Mithun Chakraborty), Srijit Mukherji’s Dawshom Awbotaar (featuring Prasenjit Chatterjee), Raj Chakraborty’s Santaan (featuring Mithun Chakraborty) and Dhruba Banerjee’s Bagola Mama
A dedicated educator, Banerjee serves as a faculty member at FTV School of Performing Arts. In his earlier stint, he taught at Filmit Academy Mumbai. International Institute of Film & Fine Arts (IIFA), and Zee Institute of Media Arts (ZIMA), mentoring the next generation of actors and filmmakers. His commitment to storytelling, cultural preservation, and mentorship continues to inspire the industry..
